Aerial imaging
Aerial imaging proved to be the gold standard for many general purpose and special purpose applications, stretching from cadastral image supply, emergency response mapping to special analytics with sophisticated sensors. While the entire production chain (from image acquisition, to mosaic creation, digital surface and terrain model generation and orthophoto creation) is already highly automated and standardized, we know that automated image exploitation has not yet reached this level of maturity. Very often image interpretation is left to classic digitization labor and to rather generic mask generation.
