Data collection through mobile mapping
Many cities and communities now collect mobile mapping data for large areas. Most of them are 360 ° panoramas along the road network, recorded by several cameras mounted on a vehicle.
The uses of the recordings are varied, e.g. the detection of road damage or the cataloging of light poles. However, while data acquisition is already largely automated, there is a lack of automated methods for evaluating the myriad of images – especially with regard to data protection.
