You can print map views in the WaldCursor directly as a PDF from your browser.
If a printout is required as a backup or in case of a malfunctioning mobile device, this can be easily accomplished. The map view can be printed as a PDF directly from the browser, ensuring a secure option.
Tip: Make sure the print format is set to A3 or A2. Otherwise, the entire card will not be visible in the image. When sending the PDF to the printer, select A4.

We recently took part in the first moor excursion in Ebersberg as part of the Zukunft+ campaign.
A significant expanse of moorland is undergoing a process of renaturalization in this area. To track the success of the measures, we prepared boreholes with the project implementers from CO2-regio and with about 10 other participants at points that had been precisely measured beforehand. The drilling was performed manually, and the measuring stations were anchored in the boreholes.
In future, the measuring stations will provide valuable data on the water level in the area in order to track the success of the revitalization measures.
This is an auspicious beginning for a long-term project.
We have annotated the locations of the measuring stations on the TWC map (see above) and the TWC aerial photograph.

Automatic Grain Counting
Answering analytical questions on individual components of a grain mixture based on photos from a digital camera.
Various process steps, such as the purification or drying required in the context of seed breeding or production, rais analytical questions for individual components of a seed mixture: what is the ratio of the individual types of this specific mix, or what is the relationship between the seed sizes of the different varieties?
Many of these questions can be answered qualitatively well by visual inspection, but only a more in-depth quantitative analysis allows for further process optimization and automation for large quantities.
RGB Data for Single Grain Extraktion
To characterize this cognitive-quantitative analysis in the field of agriculture, the Tama Group has made an example of the automatic detection of grains of a lens-sown-seed mixture. The aim of the automatic detection was the creation of individual objects, the calculation of the proportion of dark grains in the total number and the statistical coverage of different grain features. For this purpose, the automated extraction of individual grains on a white background was carried out on the basis of a photo of a digital camera.
Process Optimization through Tama Group Methodoly
A challenge for the automatic grain extraction in this example is mainly dense grain clusters, which make the detection of single grains difficult; nevertheless, meaningful results could be achieved by using high-performance algorithms. Comprehensive statements on the grain characteristics can be made with the help of the combination of grid-based additional information as well as form and neighborhood criteria. A few examples can be found in the adjacent table.

Facade Analysis
Drones provide new perspectives, even for hard-to-reach areas. Efficiently processing resulting image and data volumes is crucial for detailed and reproducible analysis. This turns images into measurable information, forming the basis for decisions.
Detailed Analysis of a Graffiti Facade
In collaboration with a company specializing in multicopter and UAV services, the Tama Group conducted a detailed analysis and precise measurement of a graffiti-covered façade. The engineering firm WOLF conducted a drone flight and photogrammetry, which was followed by a highly automated analysis by the Tama Group. The data provided made it possible to obtain precise and quantifiable information about the condition, structure, and unique features of the façade, including the graffiti.
Assessing the Condition of Old Facades
Regular inspection of facades is crucial for older or historic buildings as the building fabric may be affected by erosion or subsidence of the subsoil. This can result in cracks forming, joints breaking out, or moisture in the masonry. To accurately document, measure, and quantify these developments, precise surveying techniques such as drone flights and highly automated analysis should be deployed. By comparing time series, you can identify the right time to take corrective action.

The thematic maps are also available on mobile devices. This enables the project team on site to access the necessary information digitally, eliminating the need for physical documentation.

For every aerial imaging service provider, detailed city mapping based on high-resolution imagery may become a very tedious task if image analytics are not highly automated. Tama Group now offers a structured methodology for aerial imagery service providers to increase the level of automation for city mapping projects. The methodology centers on automated extraction of green areas and shadowed areas.
We used for example high resolution airborne orthophotos and a digital surface model of the city Bremen, Germany, to extract green areas and shadowed regions in combination with a building mask. In this example we concentrate on three different study sites, urban, industrial, and rural, characterized by dissimilar amounts of vegetation and impervious surfaces as well as different building types.
Versatility Methodologies
The whole process chain is designed for very fast performance, classification accuracies still range from 95 up to 99%. All the layers created may be mixed and matched with GIS data and other thematic layers. The versatility of this methodologies allows for many different use cases, both for aerial imaging service providers as well as consumers of the information extracted. All steps introduced are fully automated and can be adapted for large scale batch processing.

PDF – Display and Editing with WaldCursor
The WaldCursor facilitates the tracking and editing of project-related documents directly within the WaldCursor. You can simply display the documents on the screen from the album and then fill them in or edit them in any other way.
This eliminates the need for time-consuming searches, ensuring that documents are immediately available in the correct form for the designated project.

Garbage Density on the Beach
With the help of very high resolution satellite data (GSD ~ 30cm) it is possible to detect such hotspots of garbage accumulation.
Mapping the Accumulation
For automated analysis of the information collected with very high resolution satellite data, Tama Group presents a monitoring service that does not directly supply the individual garbage objects but provides information about the potential density of accumulation at the respective beach section.

Content is displayed directly from the project folder
The WaldCursor is designed to keep each project’s data, information, documents, and images organized and accessible. It utilizes a dedicated project folder for each project, ensuring that each one has its own designated space for its respective files.

👉🏾 When the images linked to the project are clicked, the image will appear as a pop-up.
👉🏾Linked PDFs can be opened directly from the project and then scrolled in the document.
This system is compatible with both desktop and mobile devices, including PCs and tablets, ensuring seamless integration across various platforms. This enables the project team to swiftly access crucial information on the go.

The WaldCursor begins with the current project dashboard. This feature ensures immediate clarity within the office on a PC and also when on the go with a tablet or cell phone, making it easy to stay informed about current pending tasks.

Mapping of Roof Structures
Mapping cities is deemed to be one of the most challenging tasks in the automated analysis of image data, as urban areas are composed of highly complex spatial and spectral structures.
Yet especially when planning and developing urban areas, measurable information from images forms a well-founded basis for decision-making.
Our multi-stage approach allows a detailed extraction of certain features in urban areas by synergistic analysis of optical imagery and LiDAR data.
For instance, our multi-stage approach can be used for detailed extraction of building roofs based on LiDAR and RGB data. RGB and LiDAR Data extract different surface features. Our five-step approach enables to combine different surface features revealed by the individual data sets. Thus, we are able to extract surface features such as as roof type, roof aspects, roof material, and solar panels.

WaldCursor also offers offline functionality
As a browser-supported application, the WaldCursor offers the option of keeping the data loaded in online mode available in offline mode.
Memos and Tasks can also be used in offline mode. The Memo can be placed on the map and filled with information. Tasks can be annotated on the map and assigned a title.
All information added to the map in offline mode is then gradually synchronized when reconnected to the Internet. This process is indicated by a counter.

City Signature Mapping
Using the Tama Group methodology, you can create a city signature with only LiDAR data, focusing on classifying various features, including moving and stationary cars.
The Tama Group has developed a methodology that obtains measurable information based solely on laser scanner point clouds. A city signature can be created by extracting objects from two LiDAR data sets recorded from slightly different positions.
